Removing the need for relocation cathodes to an independent wash bay is just one part of the process in Cadia’s armament in making goldroom processing easier, efficient and more hygienic.
Our VacPREP Sludge Recovery System allows for the recovery and dewatering of washed down sludges from the cells by Stokesian settling and filtration – all in a contained system connected to the electrowinning cells.
Using proprietary designs, the VacPrep system comprises a vacuum capable sludge settling receival vessel manufactured from stainless steel which is internally designed with an arrangement of downcomers and capcture plates to assist in consolidating colloidal and slow settling fines, enabling them to more rapidly settle.
Sludges from cells can be directed to the VacPREP tank either by gravity feed for mezzanine located cells, by pumping or be vacuum assisted removal through either the base sludge port or from the top of the cell.
The sludge is then pumped through a repeat pass plate and frame filter and subsequently blown using pressurised air to provide a low moisture cake for subsequent drying before smelting.
Cadia can provide the VacPREP system in either the VacPREP1000 or VacPREP2000 guise with a range of filter sizes and interconnecting pipes and pumps for quick installation.
